The myth and reality of Midwestern life meet in Art of the Ordinary. Inspired by John Koethe's poem North Point North, Loewen and Sebastian reflect on regional life and identity. Choreography, music, sculpture and video interweave to contemplate the quotidian as a question. The installation reproduces the roof-line of a typical Milwaukee bungalow, contrasting the everyday with the soaring monumentality of the Milwaukee Art Museum (Santiago Calatrava, architect).
