Ostinato

One of the scientists pointed out that the only common denominator among the researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Genome Center is the incredible rapid growth of knowledge in the field. Their shared processes of observing, analyzing, mapping and deciphering informed my choices of simple, shared imagery – cell division, mitosis and meiosis. The overall scheme was laid out in a continuous pattern and later divided into 4-tile wide strips. Like DNA, the arrangement of strips gives the illusion of pulling apart and reordering with much of the new images mutating significantly.
